Ochre Court, designed by Morris Hunt, was a gift to the Sisters of Mercy from Robert Goelet, in 1947, thereby establishing Salve Regina University in 1947. Ochre Court served as the entire campus for the first few years of the college’s existence, and it remains the heart of the university.
