John Rok has worked at Salve Regina for over 40 years in various positions. He started teaching a course or two as an adjunct, then later came on full-time to help develop the counseling services. He described in his interview what it was like building up a new program from part-time to full-time. After this, he described his various administrative positions including serving as Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Affairs. He talked about his responsibilities, but also the opportunities that came with the positions. Throughout his years at Salve Regina he had a lot of involvement, especially with the athletics program which he talks about in-depth. To finish off the interview he compared and contrasted Salve Regina as a whole throughout the years.

Abstract

Oral History interview with John Rok who was a former Vice President of Student Affairs, former Dean of Students, and an Associate Professor in the religious studies department at Salve Regina. The interview was conducted on July 19, 2018.
