Abstract
Our second article “Felix Holbrook: Massachusetts Abolitionist Organizer and Rhode Island Soldier,” by Christian McBurney, also treats a subject who came to prominence in the several years before the Revolutionary War began Felix Holbrook, who was enslaved as a child of seven in Boston, spent several years as a leading antislavery advocate in Massachusetts. This gifted activist moved to Rhode Island after hostilities commenced, and enlisted as a soldier in a Rhode Island regiment McBurney has tirelessly worked to uncover every shred of evidence about Holbrook’s life and work.
