Abstract
This article is based on a talk given at the Newport Historical Society on 16 August 1979, about the life and accomplishments of the Comte de Rochambeau during the colonial period and the Revolutionary War. It discusses his family, early life, military accomplishments, and his contributions to America throughout the revolution.
