Abstract
Coinciding with the 300th anniversary of the Tiverton congregation, the Rhode Island Genealogical Society has published the journal of Peleg Burrough, Newport native. Three sections of the journal were fortuitously discovered at Newport Historical Society in 1975, only months after two other sections had been transcribed by a California woman, who was the many times great-granddaughter of Peleg Burroughs. Together these five sections cover 1778 to 1798, the majority of his years as minister of the Tiverton Baptist church, and are described in this short piece by Ruth Wilder Sherman.
