Abstract
In this piece, Woodbridge describes the three separate occasions on which George Washington visited Newport. He uses eyewitness testimony from primary sources, as well as stories passed down through generations, and the research of other historians in order to piece together the fact and fiction of Washington’s time in the city by the sea.
