Abstract
The Williams Collection offers a diverse selection of correspondence, legal documents, and photographs. One of the more interesting items, which is presented in this piece, is this remarkable picture. It is a very rare, documented example of an image produced through the use of a "camera obscura," literally, "dark chamber." The image depicts the dwelling of an Indian woman named Sarah Obadiah.
