Abstract
This article is written in memory of Rear Admiral John R. Wadleigh, who was a close friend of the Newport Historical Society. A member of the Board of Directors since 1979, he became Treasurer in 1981, a regular contributor to Newport History and member of the editorial committee. Hattendorf remembers Wadleigh’s life and achievements in this piece.
