Abstract
Charles Follen McKim's photographic portfolio of 18th-century Newport houses and furnishings can be correlated with his early architectural work in which the revival of 18th-century colonial forms and motifs figured prominently. Fifteen photographs of McKim's relevant Newport commissions-as he worked at first independently and later with his firm of McKim, Mead & White-are reproduced here chronologically by date of production. As noted in the captions, all but one of these buildings still stands.
