Abstract
Daniel W. Jones Jr. is the only child of Barbara Norman Cook (1899- 1985), who was known fondly locally as “Kittymouse.” She was a granddaughter of George Henry Norman (1827-1900), who made his fortune implementing Water Works for Aquidneck Island and other locales. In 1975, Kittymouse made tape recordings that related family history and anecdotes; the bulk of this article transcribes excerpts from those recordings. An addendum contains a brief portion of an interview that Kittymouse gave shortly before her death when, on Halloween Day in 1985, she appeared on the Freddie Fernandez Show on WADK, a Newport radio station.
