Abstract
In this article, the author analyzes the theological and historical relationship between Christians and Jews. He asserts that such a dialogue must begin with understanding; therefore he discusses the major conflicts associated with and between these two religions. The author discusses the Catholic Church's stance on relationships between Christians and Jews, Jewish faith experiences, the Jewishness of Jesus, roots of animosity between the religions, the religious significance of the founding of Israel, and the Holocaust.
