Abstract
The term 'ontology' is helpful here, because most people need some propaedeutic for studying and enjoying music, so vast and diverse is the field of music. There are five terms that provide such help, viz. sound, pitch, melody, harmony, and rhythm. With these five, one can launch on a great exploration of any area of music.
