Critical concern: Racism

This session will focus on findings from year one of a longitudinal, mixed-methods case study investigating the development of participants' critical cultural and racial consciousness and culturally responsive decision-making during their four years in the secondary education program at Salve Regina. Using Helms's White Racial Identity Development Scale (all secondary education majors are White) and interview data, implications for program improvement with regards to the development of culturally responsive secondary educators are also discussed.
