Capturing snippets of life on Aquidneck Island in the early twentieth century, this collection of postcards was contributed in 2014 to Digital Commons @ Salve Regina by Wendy Mitchell, who inherited them from her great-grandmother, Edith Coggeshall Manchester (1889-1974). Edith married Harrison S. Manchester (1888-1934), son of the Abby E. Manchester whose correspondence is in the collection; their son, Harrison Coggeshall Manchester (1914-1980), was Mitchell’s grandfather. The collection includes views of popular leisure destinations, photo postcards, and brief correspondence between family members.
